Description

Notes
Augustus Jackson Shupe, Sr. (May 10, 1898-April 8, 1996) was a streetcar conductor in Atlanta, Georgia. He first moved to Atlanta in 1919 and began work that same year, working as a streetcar conductor until his retirement in 1963. He was active in the union as well as the company band. Shupe and his wife Sarah Lewis Shupe (1900-1967) were active members of the Moreland Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta. After his wife's death, he retired to Forest Park, Georgia, where he lived until his death in 1996.
