Notes |
C.C. Hart was the first licensed black plumber in Atlanta, and later, a founder of the Mutual Federal Savings and Loan Association, a black-owned bank that was absorbed by Citizens Trust Bank in 2000. Phoebe Lucille Fraser Burney Collier Hart (1902-2000) was a prominent figure in the Atlanta University Center. A graduate of Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University) and Gammon Theological Seminary, she began her career as secretary to Dr. Benjamin Mays, President of Morehouse College. Later, she became the Dean of Women at her alma mater, Clark College, a position she held until 1956. |
