Paul Rapier Richards played baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, Philadelphia Athletics, and the Detroit Tigers. In 1946 He retired from playing baseball and in 1951 He became manager of the Chicago White Sox until 1954 and again in 1976. He was also manager for the Baltimore Orioles from 1955-1961. He also managed the Atlanta Crackers for a time. He was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1996.
