Notes
The Empire Building was constructed in 1901 by architects Bruce and Morgan. The building was the first steel framed structure built in Atlanta. In 1929 the building became the headquarters for the Citizens and Southern National Bank who asked Architect Philip Shutze to redesign the first three floors. In 1991 Citizens and Southern Bank merged with North Carolina National Bank and became NationsBank which still maintains its headquarters in this building.
