Gene Guerrero is a civil rights advocate who became the first chairman of the Southern Student Organizing Committee in 1964. He later served as the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Georgia. He is currently a senior policy analyst, concentrating on the fields of criminal justice and civil liberties, at the Open Society Institute in Washington, D.C.
