Notes
Arthur Langford Jr. (d. 1994) was elected to the Atlanta City Council at the age of twenty-three. He served on the Council for eight years before becoming a Georgia State Senator in 1984. He served in the Senate until he passed away in 1994. In 1972, as a student as Morris Brown College, Langford established the United Youth Adult Conference, an organization that worked, in part, to reduce violence and the drug trade in low-income neighborhoods. Langford also served as an associate minister at the West Hunter Street Baptist Church.
