VIS 104, Allen Family photographs

Ivan Earnest Allen and his son Ivan Allen Jr. were business men who founded and presided over the Ivan Allen Company.  Ivan Allen Jr. was mayor of Atlanta from 1962-1970.  The collection consists of images of family members and friends of the Allen, Inman, Richardson, and Grant families and depictions of Ivan Allen Sr.’s and Jr.’s careers, primarily from 1920 to 1960.

   
 

VIS 87, Arthur S. Montgomery photographs

Arthur L. Montgomery became associated with the Coca-Cola Company in 1903 and served as President from 1922 until 1940. These photographs depict the facilities, employees, and marketing efforts of the Atlanta Coca Cola Bottling Company during the first half of the Twentieth Century.

   
 

VIS 92, Bell Aircraft Corporation photographs

This collection contains photographs of the construction of the Bell Bomber plant in Marietta, Georgia. The collection features images of the buildings and grounds, employees, and construction and flight of the B-29 aircraft. In addition, the collection contains photographs of the Lockheed operation, including construction of new buildings, employees and work on the B-29 and B-47.

VIS 162, Reeves Studios photographs

Reeves Studios was a photography service specializing in commercial photography and portraiture. This collection includes images of businesses in Atlanta, Georgia, assembly line activities in the General Motors plant, and portraits of individuals. Also included are photographs of Westview Cemetery and Blackman Health Resort.

   
 

VIS 120, W. M. Edwards photographs

This collection contains images of businesses located in Atlanta’s commercial district, including the Ivan-Allen Marshall Company, and Belle Isle-Street Company.  Images of store exteriors include those located on Auburn Avenue, Whitehall Avenue, Marietta Street, Peachtree Street, and Ivy Street.
