Georgia Folklore Archives Collection, MSS 1003

The Georgia Folklore Archives Collection consist of nearly 1500 interviews collected by students enrolled in folklore classes taught by Dr. John Burrison at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.  The interviews were collected over a forty-one year period, beginning in 1966 through 2007, and most interviews were conducted primarily in north Georgia and the surrounding Southeastern states.  The students interviewed Georgia residents on a variety of topics pertaining to folk life traditions.  Some of the topics include storytelling, song writing, home remedies, superstitions, singing, African American traditions, and crafts.
