Notes Reverend Fred Bennett worked as an aide to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in Atlanta during the height of the civil rights movement. One of his primary functions was to enlist local preachers in the movement. He also served on Andrew Young's congressional staff.
